ClinicalConnect HIE is western Pennsylvania’s regional health information exchange (HIE), headquartered in the US Steel Tower in Pittsburgh. Formed to help deliver better patient care by creating a unique network of electronic medical records, ClinicalConnect HIE securely connects clinicians with patients’ vital medical information — whenever it’s needed, wherever care is delivered.

About ClinicalConnect HIE

ClinicalConnect HIE was built around a straightforward but powerful idea: providers need fast, reliable access to complete patient information to make better care decisions. Before HIE networks existed in the region, that information was fragmented across incompatible systems, faxed between offices, or simply unavailable at the point of care.

Today, ClinicalConnect HIE connects health systems and physicians like never before. Providers have quick access to a patient’s medical information — allergies, medications, lab results, past hospitalizations, and other vital details important to clinical decisions and patient care.
